Actively being built

Alta Via Planner

A free companion for the Alta Via routes through the Dolomites, starting with the 120 km Alta Via 1 - every rifugio mapped, offline maps you can download before you go, and no signal required once you're on the trail.

Work in progress, built in the open

This planner is a solo side project, actively being built out with the goal of being fully ready before next hiking season. The trail map, offline maps, and all 31 rifugios below are already real and usable today - some polish and a few features are still on the way.

Currently, only the Alta Via 1 is covered - the Alta Via 2 and 3 are planned to follow, not available yet.

What's already here

Alta Via 1 only, for now
Full interactive trail map
All 31 rifugi on the Alta Via 1, with photos, altitude, distance and CAI discount info.
Offline maps
Download the trail before you leave - no signal needed once you're up in the mountains.
Installable as an app
Add it to your home screen and it works like a native app - no app store needed.
One-tap directions
Jump straight to directions for any hut, or step to the next/previous one along the route.

The Alta Via 1 comes first because it's the classic route through the Dolomites - once it's fully polished, the Alta Via 2 and 3 are next on the roadmap, using the same map, offline downloads and hut info you see here.

Help getting this app trail-ready

This app is built solo, in spare evenings - every rifugio's contact details, coordinates and photo have been individually sourced and checked by hand, and hosting the offline map tiles costs real money every month.

If this planner saves you a headache on the trail, a small donation goes a long way towards keeping it free, ad-free and online for the next hiker after you.

It means the world to me. Thank you 🙏
